Very unusual picture - you should have blogged this at halloween time!

I think the image could be improved if the left and top parts of the pumpkin were in focus as well - I have a feeling that would mean that you have to invest in a macro lens that have continuous focus capablilities. The alternative would be to take the photo at a 90 degree angle to the centre, but I have feeling that such a shot would appear too rigid.

I am at the moment pestering the dealers to show me what different macro lenses are available for my camera. Once I have the lens I will tackle some south african pumpkins

This is allready a great shot - the improvement would take it into the excellent class
Frank van Hienen: Sorry for reacting so late, but thanks for your comment anyway. Tired of my mails allready??

I agree with your comment. I'm curious to see your pumpkins.
I understand that in the nar future we can see a lot of macro shots??

Gosh, I thought from the thumbnail it was the middle of a tulip! What amazing colours for a pumpkin.
Frank van Hienen: I think that you must be thinking that I make some weird photographs, isn't it? A tulip, mmmm trhat's a good idea. ;-)
